Applications for admission to all three levels (bachelor, master, doctorate) are done online.

Note to students already matriculated at the University of Basel:

to apply to change your degree level, program or subject, use the Online Services (https://services.unibas.ch/) when re-registering.

Below, under the respective heading, you will find a link to the corresponding registration scenario as well as the respective deadline.

Application for Studies

  • Bachelor Studies

    Bachelor Studies (except Sport, Excercise and Health)

    1. Bachelor programs (students with Swiss qualifications)
      The application deadline for the fall semester 2024 elapsed on 30 April 2024.
      [late application until 31 July 2024]
      Applicants are advised that entrance to a number of courses and programs is possible in the fall semester only.
      Applications for the spring semester 2025 are possible from 15 October 2024 (application deadline: 30 November 2024).

    2. Bachelor programs (students with foreign qualifications)
      The application deadline for the fall semester 2024 elapsed on 30 April 2024.
      [late application possible under special conditions only until 31 July 2024]
      Applicants are advised that entrance to a number of courses and programs is possible in the fall semester only.
      Applications for the spring semester 2025 are possible from 15 October 2024 (application deadline: 30 November 2024).

    Master Programs in Medicine and Dental Medicine

    The application deadline for the fall semester 2024 is 15 February 2024.
    Late applications are not possible.

    Computational Biology and Bioinformatics (Joint Degree Master Studies)

    The Application for the Joint Degree Master Studies in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics takes place exclusively via ETH Zurich.
