Interreligious Studies
The “Interreligious Studies” Master's program answers a burning question: How do we deal with the increasing religious plurality of our society?
The course focuses on this challenge as a European phenomenon and is therefore also offered in cooperation with the three universities of Strasbourg, Heidelberg and Basel. Students learn which theological ideas and historical developments form the foundation of the monotheistic religions. They explore the question of how Islam, Christianity and Judaism affect the world view, culture and forms of society, and how the respective religious practices affect the everyday lives of believers. They acquire the skills to mediate between the religions and their institutions and to bring them into conversation with each other. And they are able to help society to open up to an encounter in a well-founded and (self-)critical way.
The course is open to anyone with a Bachelor's degree in the humanities. 30 credit points should be completed outside of the home university.
In addition to the information evening, you can also contact the Student Advisory Service at any time with your questions. Please complete the form below. We look forward to hearing from you.
