The Sustainability Office has adopted sustainability as an issue that cuts across all areas of the university. In its role as a catalyst, the office initiates, supports and coordinates sustainability initiatives at the University of Basel and implements its own projects in close cooperation with other areas and departments of the university. It provides advice, raises awareness, makes sustainability-relevant activities visible and develops instruments for the long-term institutional implementation of sustainability at the University of Basel.
