Nine researchers from the University of Basel among the world’s most cited
Nine researchers from Basel have been recognized as some of the most frequently cited scientists in the world, according to the latest edition of the Highly Cited Researchers ranking.

All honorees have authored scientific papers that were cited most frequently in their field over the past ten years, highlighting the significant impact of their research.
To identify Highly Cited Researchers, the US company Clarivate conducts an annual evaluation of its Web of Science database, which records scientific publications across various fields.
For the current list, publications from 2013 to 2023 were assessed, resulting in the recognition of 6,636 researchers from 59 countries. The Cross-Field category highlights scientists who have published exceptional publications across multiple disciplines.
