The University of Basel supports researchers who wish to organize a scientific congress. It does this in close cooperation with the Basel Convention Bureau (CVB). The aim is to relieve researchers of as many of the administrative tasks involved in organizing the congress as possible so that they can focus on the scientific part of the congress. This website is operated in close cooperation with the Basel Convention Bureau.

Basel is an excellent location for organizing scientific congresses

Our university and the city of Basel not only have an outstanding congress infrastructure, Basel is also excellently located in terms of transportation and is easily accessible by train or plane. Thanks to the many years of experience of the Basel Convention Bureau*, researchers wishing to organize a scientific congress can count on competent support: The University of Basel and the Basel Convention Bureau would like to actively support researchers in organizing a congress.

There is also support from the canton: Basel-Stadt has various measures in place to promote scientific congresses. Applications for congress support can be submitted via the Congress Board Basel. Contributions for aperitifs are also possible.

* The Basel Convention Bureau is a department of Basel Tourism and positions Basel as a congress city.
