Aimed at young researchers who wish to conduct, manage and lead an independent project at a Swiss higher education institution. The funding scheme would like to promote qualified researchers from Switzerland as well as excellent researchers from abroad. For medical practitioners: at least three years of clinical/practical experience after graduating (certificate as a specialist FMH is an advantage). Application may generally be submitted up to nine years after obtaining the medical licence (state examination).

Aimed at University of Basel PhD students who are parents. Each semester, support options are offered to help students complete their PhD within the allotted time. These life phase-specific support options include temporary supplementary assistance for childcare, hiring of an assistant or individual options within the scope of the set range of offerings. The get on track support options are offered during the respective semester dates.

Aimed towards highly qualified female postdoctoral researchers in the early stage of motherhood. Support measures will be made available on a semester-by-semester basis to help focus and maintain high-quality research. The research support measures take the form of temporary relief from certain duties of assistants, for example teaching, project lead, academic administration, and laboratory work. The support measures are scheduled to fit approximately with the duration of semesters.

For the ERC Consolidator Grant 2022, the SNSF launched the SNSF Consolidator Grants 2022 call on 1 March 2022. Interested researchers can pre-register until 2 May and submit their applications until 1 June. The call document has already been published.

The Käthe Zingg-Schwichtenberg Fund of the SAMS supports various research projects. The aim is to help young scientists achieve proven independent research activity and thus facilitate the next step in their academic careers.
The 2021 call is intended to fund empirical or theoretical research projects that examine the topic of «Access to medical and nursing care in the event of resource scarcity» from a clinical ethics and/or public health ethics perspective.
