Strategy Committee for Information Supply and Information Technology (SIVIT)
In recent years, the digital transformation at the University of Basel has accelerated thanks to rapid technological change and growing demands on teaching and research. As a result, issues of information supply and information technology (IVIT) are of increasing importance to the university’s success.
The President’s Board is responsible for the strategic direction of IVIT, which it delegates to the Strategy Committee for Information Supply and Information Technology (SIVIT). The SIVIT develops the strategic groundwork for the university’s IVIT strategy and advises the President’s Board.
The Strategy Committee also performs the additional duties specified in IVIT Governance:
- Analyze IVIT developments and develop recommendations for action
- Consult with internal and external interest groups
- Comment on the IVIT implementation plan prepared by the IVIT Coordination Committee
- Assess the benefits of innovations and developments from a user perspective
The SIVIT is composed of representatives from research, teaching, and administration, as well as support staff and students of the University of Basel. The President’s Board elects members for a term of two years.
