Nadja Braun Binder has been Professor of Public Law at the University of Basel since 2019. Since August 2023, she has been Vice-President for People & Culture, responsible for Human Resources and Organisational Culture as well as University Sport and AlumniBasel.

Nadja Braun Binder studied law at the University of Bern, where she completed her doctorate on the subject of the secrecy of the ballot. Her academic career took her to the German Research Institute for Public Administration in Speyer in 2011, where she conducted research into the automation of administrative procedures, among other things. In 2017, she received her habilitation from the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer with a thesis on European tax law and was appointed as an assistant professor of Public Law with a focus on European democracy at the University of Zurich, where she worked until 2019.
