Eucor – The European Campus
Eucor is a trinational alliance of five universities: the University of Freiburg and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany, the University of Strasbourg and the Université de Haute Alsace (Mulhouse-Colmar) in France, and the University of Basel in Switzerland.
The aim of the alliance is to promote collaboration between universities in the Upper Rhine across all areas in order to create added value and harness synergies. The alliance has taken a pioneering role in Europe for crossborder cooperation in the higher education sector. It was founded in 1989, has been a distinct legal entity since 2016 (currently the only one in Europe), and as the European Campus, has reached a critical mass in order to be able to take a leading position alongside international high-performing research universities.
