University of Basel on Google Street View
As of today, the Kollegienhaus (main building) can also be visited online: Panoramic pictures on Google Street View now give insights into the campus of the University of Basel.

For two days in August 2014 a Google operator was busy taking panoramic pictures inside and outside the university's main building on Petersplatz. The pictures are now live.
With the help of Street View on Google Maps online users worldwide are now able to have a look around the University of Basel. For orientation in advance, users can for example find their way to the counters of Student Services and University Sports, virtually enter the Aula or look around the Senate's meeting room.
New technologies have high priority at the University of Basel. The university's participation in Street View is also in accordance with the development of the Digital Campus. In addition, a presence on Street View opens up several opportunities to draw attention to the university's various programs and locations.
The images of the University of Basel are part of a number of new footage of Switzerland that went live on Street View today: Besides other higher education institutions, most Swiss streets as well as hiking paths and tourist attractions like Basel's cathedral are now online.
