Local host - what does that mean?
The term "local host" refers to the person or research group who is committed to organizing a scientific congress at their research location.
Tasks
The Local Host works closely with the Association Secretariat and is responsible for providing key advice on all aspects of the organization of the event, including programme, logistics, venue, security and accommodation. Depending on the size and scope of the event, certain tasks may be outsourced to a Professional Conference Organizer (PCO).
Advantages

- A binding commitment is required from the members of the Local Organizing Committee
Local Organizing Committee
The local organization, on the other hand, is carried out by a Local Organizing Committee (LOC). Among other things, it is responsible for the local infrastructure.
