“Uni-Einblicke” visits the Institute for European Global Studies
This spring semester's first issue of the event series “Uni-Einblicke” takes us to the Institute for Euro-pean Global Studies (EIB). The guided tour for students and staff of the University of Basel on March 10 will give insight into the interdisciplinary research at the EIB.
04 March 2016
In the age of global networks, Europe is facing a growing number of complex challenges. The Institute for European Global Studies provides answers to global interrelations that call for new approaches and models of analysis. The EIB studies the basic economic, legal, social and historical principles of Europe's relationship with Africa, Asia and the rest of the world using interdisciplinary and methodically diverse research.
“Uni-Einblicke” starts at 5 pm with a guided tour by Prof. Ralp Weber and Prof. Teresa Pullano. They will give an overview over the activities at the EIB and the European Global Studies program. Then PhD students will present current research projects in the fields of global history, European and transnational law, European integration, politics and foreign trade. After the guided tour, participants have the opportunity for further questions at a small reception.
Get to know the University better
Numerous departments, museums and institutions are gathered under the roof of the University of Basel and cover a wide range of subjects. Further institutions are either associated with the university or stand in close contact with it otherwise. The event series «Uni-Einblicke» wants to give students and employees further insight into these institutions in order to better get to know the university, its partners and subjects. The event will be held in German and – in case of sufficient demand – also in English.
