  • What is fundraising?

    Fundraising includes all activities conducted at the university with the aim of securing donations or sponsorship from corporations, organizations, and private individuals. This can take the form of monetary or material support.

  • What are donations?

    Donations are contributions made by private individuals (donors) to the university and/or specific university bodies for which there is no contractually agreed “consideration” or service provided in return. Donations specifically include endowments, legacies, bequests, charitable donations, and contributions for research and educational materials.

  • What does sponsorship mean?

    Sponsorship involves the university providing a contractually agreed service in return for the sponsor’s funds.

  • What are endowed professorships?

    Endowed professorships are professorships that are largely funded from private donations.

  • What is the difference between a legacy and a bequest?

    Legacies are assets from an estate left to the university, its bodies, or members of the university with the status of an heir. Bequests are assets from an estate left to the university, its bodies, or members of the university as legatees without the status of an heir.
