  • Basel Convention Bureau

    The Convention Bureau Basel is the official point of contact for the organization of your business meetings and seminars in Basel. The Basel Tourism team provides researchers with a contact person who will accompany and support them during the planning of the congress. The Convention Bureau Basel provides researchers with competent and independent advice on the topics listed below and is happy to support them in planning their congress.


    The Bureau offers the following services:

    • Competent and free advice 
    • Information on meeting and conference venues
    • Booking of accommodation
    • Organization of accompanying programmes
    • Assistance in applying for financial support from the Canton of Basel-Stadt
    • Organization of transfers/transportation
    • Management of reception and information desks


     

  • Compliance

    Compliance-relevant elements in the organization of congresses: 

    • Choice of venue (location) 
    • Choice of hotels
    • the proportion of specialist and supporting programs and their content 
    • Questions regarding the assumption of costs for the event by sponsors
  • Congress Board Basel

    The Congress Board Basel evaluates applications for congress funding for the attention of the Basel-Stadt Government Council. The aim of the funding is to increase the direct and indirect added value generated by congresses.

    In addition, the funding aims to further strengthen Basel as the most innovative business and knowledge location in Switzerland. By promoting congresses, we want to help ensure that Basel remains one of the most important trade fair and congress cities in Europe.

    The term "local host" refers to individuals or organizational teams who are committed to organizing a scientific congress at their research location.

  • Professional Congress Organiser (PCO)

    A company that specializes mainly in the planning of conferences, events and business meetings. It deals with congress and event management, which serves as its core business.

    • Coordination with the catering
    • Marketing and communication, including social media and email marketing activities

    The requirements and information about a congress and its organization. The history of the event helps the PCO to understand it. Information about the required services helps to create an accurate budget. 

  • Venue Finder

    The Venue Finder provides an overview of the variety of venues for congresses and meetings, conference hotels and event locations in and around Basel. Here you will find the perfect venue for your event. Conference venues, venues for aperitifs and dinners. For hotel reservations, the Guest Service department of Basel Tourism creates individualized booking links with the predefined event data.

  • Where can I find good pictures for my application?

    In the Basel Media Portal of Basel Tourismus you will find a large number of attractive pictures that can be used for an application dossier.
