Real Estate Board
The university and the contracting cantons have a joint board of experts that advises the University Council and the contracting cantons on real estate transactions of relevance to the university’s strategy and costs, and ensures that the interests of the cantons and the university are aligned.
Tasks
According to the valid agreement on real estate at the University of Basel, the Real Estate Board has the following particular tasks:
a) to maintain a comprehensive overview of real estate matters concerning the university;
b) to assess and check the plausibility of applications, reports and other information submitted to governments and the University Council;
c) to review the university’s property portfolio (rental and ownership);
d) to draw up recommendations for the university and the contracting cantons on strategic real estate issues;
e) to maintain a regular exchange of information with the Real Estate Committee of the University Council;
