U-Change Funding Programme
The funding program "U-Change - Student Initiatives for Sustainability (2021-24)", led by the Network for Transdisciplinary Reserch (td-net) of the Swiss Academics of Arts and Sciences, finances and supports innovative student projets on sustainable development and education. Furthermore, support platforms for student projects or even thematic workshops are also financially supported.
U-Change aims to encourage students at all levels of higher education to develop and implement their own project ideas. This allows students to gain experience in working with representatives of other disciplines, civil society, and the private and public sector, thus promoting inter- and transdisciplinarity.
Student projects on sustainable development and education are funded by the program with up to CHF 10'000.
Currently, the U-Change funding program supports the following projects at the University of Basel:
- Engage! Coordination Office for Student Sustainability Projects (2021-2024)
- Mapping and upcycling of Swiss agricultural and food waste streams as substrates for fungal biocomposite materials (2021-2022)
- Stories of Sustainability - inspiration from around the world (2023)
- "Students - the energy managers of tomorrow" (2023-2024)
The Coordination Office for Sustainability Projects supports existing initiatives and programs, such as IMPULS and AG Nachhaltigkeit and acts as a central point of contact for student engagement in the field of sustainability at the University of Basel.
The last round of calls for sustainable projects has begun, and the deadline for project applications is April 30, 2024.
